The Conference will take place from 22nd to 24th September 2009 in Lublin (Poland) at the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin. We intend to continue the studies on the philosophy of John Scottus Eriugena conducted and developed by the Society for the Promotion of Eriugenian Studies (SPES). This time we wish to examine the interrelations between Eriugenian philosophy and that of Nicolas of Cusa. This subject has been studied by many eminent scholars and we plan to continue their research. We are convinced that the achievements of both thinkers, Eriugena and Cusanus, can be regarded as important turning points in the development of Medieval Neoplatonism. We hope that this conference will provide new stimuli for further Neoplatonic studies.
